Midterm

The Midterm will take place Thursday October 20th, 19:00-21:00 in LTD and LTG
- LTs will be assigned in advance. Information about which LT your exam will be given in will be posted by Tuesday October 18th
- NEW: L1 students will have their exam in LTD
  L2 students will have their exam in LTG
It will be worth 30% of your final grade
The Midterm will cover everything up to and including the slides on 2D -dynamic programming.
It will NOT include DP over intervals
There will be no regular lessons in L1 or L2 on Thursday October 20th.
- Instead, the instructors will be in the classroom for the first 40 minutes to answer any last minute questions you might have.
- Note: Be aware that the instructors will only stay in the classrooms as long as some students are there. If no students remain, the instructors will leave
The exam will be closed book and the use of electronic devices will not be allowed.
NEW: A sheet containing some basic mathematical facts that do not have to be memorized but do have to be understood will be distributed with the exam. A copy of the sheet can be found here.
You are encouraged to write with pencils so that you can correct mistakes

Getting Your Midterm

Pick up will be in Room 3501. Times are

Thursday, October 27, 2-3PM
Friday, October 28, 10:30-11:30AM
Old Marked Assignment 1’s can be picked up at the same time

If you can not come to either of those times, please email the TA to make an appointment

If you would like to appeal the marking of a question, please fill out the appeal form detailing your reason for requesting a grade change and hand it back with your marked exam to the TA AT THE PICKUP SESSION (once you take your exam out of the room you will not be able to file a later appeal so schedule yourself some time to review your exam in the pick-up session).

Final Exam

The Final will take place Friday December 16, 2016 October 20th, 16:30-19:30 in the LG1 Table Tennis Room
It will be worth 50% of your final grade
It will cover everything that we learned the entire semester (In Lectures, Tutorials and Homeworks) with an emphasis on what was NOT covered by the midterm
1. The only material in the lecture notes that is guaranteed NOT to be on the midterm are the slides labelled "optional" at the end of the Bipartite matching notes, i.e., the complexity and correctness of the Hungarian algorithm
The exam will be closed book and the use of electronic devices will not be allowed.
The same mathematical facts sheet that was distributed with the midterm will also be distributed with this exam
The Instructors will hold two Q&A review sessions.
- Students from both L1 & L2 can go to both sections
- There will be no presentations at these sessions; their purpose is to answer any questions you might have.

Checking Your Final

There will be two sections at which you can check your Final . Times are

Monday, December 19, 1-3PM
- Venue will be announced on Monday morning
Thursday, December 22nd, 9:30-11:30
- Room 3510, Thursday, October 27, 2-3PM
