Top-Vis Competition (10%)

Involved Activities:

  • Participation in a 2~3 min in-class presentation to showcase one visualization (dates see syllabus)
  • Peer voting based on presentation
    • Audience picks the top five based on first impression and presentation
    • Bonus point(s) given to the most popular choice(s)
  • Write up a short essay that includes two parts (1-2 pages each -- max 4 pages):

  1. Complete a pre-competition survey Links to an external site. before participating in the in-class presentation.
  2. Download the Chatbox AI application Links to an external site..
  3. Conduct self-assessment with Chatbox AI.
  4. In your essay, please include the following content for Part 2:
    1. Give your work in the Top Vis Competition an overall score (between 1 and 10) based on the assessment.
    2.  Analyze the strengths and weaknesses in your performance.
    3. Propose actional strategies for future improvement.
    4. Export your conversational history with Chatbox AI and attach a downloadable link to it in your essay.
