When I first teach this course, the algorithm has the following definition:
"An algorithm is a well defined computational procedure that transforms inputs into outputs, achieving the desired input-out relationship.
A correct algorithm halts with the correct output for every input instance. We can then say that the algorithm solves the problem. "
Comparing this definition with the definition in the course note, which one do you like? Why?
